ORTHODONTIC TECHNOLOGY

Our philosophy is simple: The sooner we recognize an orthodontic problem, the more successfully and efficiently we can treat it. We believe you can have beautiful teeth at any age. While the right time to begin orthodontic treatment varies by person, you can begin care whether you’re 8 or 80.

Whatever your age, early diagnosis by your orthodontist is important. Dr. Ensley recommends an initial orthodontic exam by the age of eight to benchmark for the future and identify possible risks. Orthodontic care for children is generally started when most permanent teeth are in place, usually at age eleven or twelve.

More and more, adults are turning to orthodontic treatment options for both health and cosmetic reasons. With the advent of discreet and flexible treatments, such as the Invisalign® system, you can achieve a healthier smile without the metal wires and bands, generally in less time than conventional treatments. Back in the day, when people sought out solutions for teeth straightening or a cosmetic dental treatment, the image they had of orthodontia included uncomfortable procedures and a costly, drawn out treatment program.

Pitts 21™ self-ligating braces offer a number of aesthetic and functional benefits for both adult and adolescent patients, including: 

· Faster correction of common orthodontic concerns such as spaces between the teeth, crowding, general misalignment, and bite irregularities 

· Less pressure is necessary to move the teeth 

· The brackets are designed to have a lower profile on the teeth and smoother, rounded corners, which can make them less apt to create irritation in the lips and soft tissues of the mouth 

· Patients typically require fewer follow-up appointments for maintenance 

· Easier to brush, floss, and remove food particles from the braces 

· Depending on each patient’s unique needs, additional oral appliances such as palate expanders or headgear are often not necessary 

Damon® System - Clear Braces

With the Damon System, we don’t just align the teeth; we create beautiful smiles. Dr. Ensley takes into account a number of factors when first diagnosing your smile, including what effect orthodontic treatment will have when you’re in your 40s, 50s and beyond. 

With the Damon System, treatment time is typically shorter than with conventional braces. A shorter treatment time means fewer appointments and a beautiful smile…faster.

What makes the Damon System work so quickly is that it uses far gentler, more biologically sensible forces than conventional braces.

The low-friction nature of the system assures improved tooth position and improved facial harmony. Damon passive self-ligating braces that eliminate the need for elastic or metal “ties”. With Damon tie-less braces you can experience treatment without tightening. Very light “shape memory” titanium wires are used that gently guide your teeth to their ideal position. Many people experience very little discomfort. The days of having braces tightened are over.

Damon System is a new clinically proven treatment approach that aligns your teeth and enhances your facial aesthetics—often without extractions or expansion.

Invisalign®

Dr. Ensley offers a wealth of experience in Invisalign®, and continues to be recognized as an Invisalign® Elite Provider. In fact, Dr. Ensley is one of the most experienced Invisalign® providers in the state - with over 1100 Invisalign® cases!

Your aligners are created based on special impressions taken of your teeth, using 3-D computer imaging technology. With Invisalign®, most people won’t notice that you’re in orthodontic treatment. It is a series of removable, clear, custom-fitted aligners that gradually reposition your teeth into a smile you’ll be proud of.

There are no metal wires or bands. Remove aligners to eat, brush and floss. Change aligners every one to two weeks. Your teeth will move gradually.

That’s all there is to it! We will schedule progress checks every 8-10 weeks. You’ll often see results in less time than conventional treatments and Invisalign® usually costs about the same amount as traditional braces.

Not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign®. This technology works best for people with moderate crowding or extra space and you must have your second molars (12-year molars). With Dr. Ensley’s extensive experience and advanced training, he is able to offer Invisalign® to many patients that other orthodontists would only treat with braces.

Invisalign Teen®

If you’re a teenager, you know that looking good is important! Traditional braces, in all their metallic glory, just won’t make the grade when it comes to school photos, dates, sports, proms, and other social events. With Invisalign Teen®, you don’t need to be embarrassed about a “metal mouth” smile.

The aligners are removable so it’s easier for you to brush, floss, and practice excellent dental hygiene—helping to avoid the tooth decay that’s sometimes associated with metal braces. They use the same Invisalign® technology that doctors worldwide have used to treat more than three quarters of a million patients who have wanted better smiles.

They look great— in yearbooks, on social network sites, and in family photos. In fact, it will be hard for people to tell you’re wearing the aligners. With Invisalign Teen®, there’s no visible metal braces – smile with confidence at parties, proms, or on interviews! Even in person, they’re virtually impossible to see. 

They’re easy to maintain and remove! When it’s time to eat and when brushing and flossing, simply remove the aligners. Unlike metal braces, the removable aligners allow you to eat whatever you want! Apples, pizza, popcorn and more!

They’re more comfortable. Invisalign Teen® aligners are made of lightweight plastic and custom-fit snugly around your teeth.

They allow you to keep track of your progress. Invisalign Teen® aligners have a compliance indicator that turns clear with wear, so you’ll be able to make sure you’re following your program. Invisalign Teen® comes with a built in limited replacement plan so there’s no need worry about losing your aligners.

VPro5™

Propel VPro5™ is a simple-to-use, hands-free device designed for faster orthodontic treatment with only 5 minutes daily use! It is a FDA-cleared, Class II medical device. 

Your orthodontics work on their own by moving your teeth in specific directions. VPro5™ uses soft vibrations enhancing the movements directed by your orthodontics, allowing for faster tooth movement.

By inserting the Mouthpiece – fitted around your existing orthodontics – and turning on the Activator for 5 minutes every day, VPro5™ can speed up tooth movement.

Faster tooth movement may decrease the duration of your orthodontic treatment and can even help to make your orthodontics more comfortable. People are often resistant to orthodontic treatment because of the length of time involved.

VPro5™ gives you an attractive option to have the smile you desire in a time frame that works for you.

PROPEL® System

The PROPEL® System is the only micro-invasive option able to accelerate orthodontics.

PROPEL® is a breakthrough in dental device engineering. The patented PROPEL® System was designed and developed specifically to maximize bone remodeling effect while providing a safe and simple device. Dr. Ensley can determine if using the PROPEL® system is right for your treatment.

PROPEL® can be completed chair-side in minutes. There is zero recovery time – which means you can get back to your day faster. A PROPEL® procedure also causes very little discomfort to you – patients have reported up to 50% less soreness after a treatment.

With an increase in age, tissues are less biologically active and the ability to adapt diminishes. As a result, tooth movement may not only be more uncomfortable for adults but also occur at a slower rate.

Adult patients with PROPEL® treatment along with traditional orthodontic treatments can see an increase in tooth movement by 50-60% or more.

You want the best possible orthodontic care available. After all, that’s why you’ve come to Ensley Orthodontics. But you also have a budget to consider. Factors that may affect the cost of your treatment include the complexity and the length of your treatment.

All of your questions regarding the financial aspects of your care will be answered by our Financial Coordinator, Terrie Johansen. During your treatment, Terrie will also bill your insurance as a courtesy to you and manage your contract.
